It came from a dream…and shaped a vision for the future

The Wall

56 transparent, glowing, acrylic panel combined to create a 250’ circular art installation at Burning Man 2019. The transparency represents our illusions of boundaries, both within ourselves and between each other. We are limitless.

The pattern included four different sized circles arranged upon four repeating sinusoidal wave-forms. Together they represented interactions of time and space intersecting as wisdom guiding wonder,

A heartbeat rested at the center of each panel indicative of our shared space in the Soul of the World.

The final message of the wall is that it is not money nor knowledge, but clarity that is our greatest power. We must become clear about every relationship; whether with people, our environment, technology, food, or an ideology. Ask why we believe anything and courageously explore …

The Humanoids

Within the circle, 26 life-sized Humanoid canvases and permanent markers invited cross-cultural storytelling around themes that are shaping our world. They evolved into beautiful representations of shared humanity; the glitter and the dirt, the profane, profound, and the gracefully absurd.

The Artists

Each Humanoid invited individuals to safely express themselves; the sculptures molded from human form. The canvas holds everything that we are as individuals, cultures, and communities without judgment. As we engage, the once sleeping artist awakens. creates, and simultaneously becomes the art itself. We re-claim our pens with a new understanding that we have the capacity to determine our story.

The Evolution of the Future

The Wall breaks into 56 separate panels, each signed, numbered, and holding the coordinates of the installation origin. Check out Pillars of Light

The Humanoids multiply as they move into the world as collaborative Storytellers. Completed Humanoids travel as escorts for blank ones with new themes. They invite anyone who encounters them to layer their story onto the new canvas according to the cultural and environmental perspective of their system.

Their Movement will be tracked as a data visualization application to form an interactive global Human Connection Cosmos through time. We are the new ancestors shaping the future.

The Collaborators

The Artist is only as good as those that participate in the art. Participation in life is to engage in art. I am grateful for the collaborators that came together to produce a miracle. From pre-build mentors, to fabricators, to funding, and the team that turned the bolts in the heat of the day and the dark of night.

Art exists to connect us to a deeper space of Soul, the place we call home, the place where everything else melts away and we makes things with shared vision and unattached collaboration.
